ADE always puts the safety of our guests first. ADE is closely monitoring the global, national, and local developments of the COVID-19 outbreak and we would like to share the actions that ADE is taking to increase driver safety.
We have further reinforced our existing sanitization procedures and have implemented additional measures which include:

Any request to cancel or change drive dates will be honored with no cost for rescheduling, however no refunds will be offered. Thank you for understanding.
If ADE is required to reschedule your experience due to national, state or local coronavirus-related restrictions, we will waive all rescheduling fees and move your booking to a later date. You will receive email and SMS communications regarding your reservation as soon as any changes are made. If you cannot make the date/time of your updated booking, please reach out to the guest services team at info@appalachiandriving.com to discuss your options which include credit of equal value for any future experiences and dates. We understand that this is hard on you, but this is also very difficult for our business and our team as we are faced with making very difficult decisions.
If you are exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 or have tested positive for the virus, we ask that you be mindful and reschedule your experience for a later date. If you need to reschedule, you must contact our Guest Services Team at least 24 hours before your scheduled date at 828-361-9940 Info@appalachiandriving.com
Any reschedules outside of the conditions stated above are subject to our standard reschedule policies and terms and conditions.

If you know that you or a loved one would enjoy this experience, but do not want to commit to a booking at this time, our Gift Vouchers provide you or your gift recipient with the ultimate flexibility to choose the car, location, date and time with no expiration date.

We have further reinforced our existing sanitization procedures and have implemented additional measures which include:
Cleaning and Sanitization:
- Providing multiple hand sanitizing and/or hand-washing stations on-site at all times.
- High-touch areas are frequently disinfected throughout the Experience including surfaces, vehicle steering wheels, safety belts and door handles.
- Spacing and limiting the number of guests congregating in any area of our experience.
- To manage the volume of participants onsite, each guest will be given a specific arrival time to ensure total participant numbers at any one time are kept under strict control.
- Limited size and ensuring social distance while in our mandatory safety class and permitting attendance of drivers only.
- Requiring guests to wear face coverings when social distancing cannot be maintained.
- Masks are available upon request.
- Checking employee’s temperatures every morning before work to screen for fever. A person with a body temperature reading of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will not be permitted to work
- Encouraging anyone who is at higher risk for severe illness (See the CDC’s definition of “High Risk”) to utilize our reschedule policy and drive at a later date.
- Encouraging anyone who exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19, has tested positive for the virus, or has been in contact with someone who is ill to utilize our reschedule policy and drive at a later date.

What is the Cancellation policy?
Requests to cancel or change your reservation with Appalachian Driving Experience more than 45 days prior to the experience start date, a $100.00 fee will be charged. If the cancellation or change is requested between 7-45 days prior to the course start date, the participant forfeits half the cost of the experience. There are no refunds on changes or cancellations less than 7 days prior to the experience start date. A “no show” forfeits the full amount. Refunds will not be issued for “no shows” resulting from weather or airline connection problems.
Gift cards are non-refundable.

Who is responsible for DamageS?
Similar to rental cars, the driver is responsible for any damage occurred during the drive. Please be sure to check with your primary insurance company about rental car coverage. ADE has a $1 million umbrella policy for liability and damage in addition to your policy coverage.
Where will the route Begin & End?
Our shop at 66 Tennessee Street in Murphy NC is the starting and ending point of the experience. There are several routes utilized depending on the experience you choose, please see Our Roads for more information.
What Type of Clothing is Acceptable?
Clothes suitable for both cool and warm weather climates. Some of the altitudes reach 5,000+ ft. Additionally, summers get hot, especially in the convertible cars offered. Flat sole shoes are a must. No heels over one inch are allowed. ADE goes regardless of most weather conditions. If experience cancels due to weather, another day will be scheduled.
What SHould I bring?
Be sure to bring a valid state issued drivers license. An MVR check will be performed on each driver clearing them to participate. Participants must be 25 years of age minimum. Additionally, if you are prone to any type of motion sickness, please bring motion sickness medication/devices.

What DOes the Day entail?
The day begins with a short drivers' meeting outlining rules and routes driven. Liability waivers must be signed prior to this meeting. Cars will have two participants per vehicle. Drivers will change places/cars at each stop throughout the day. Communications will take place via two-way radio with the lead car/instructor communicating to each car. Cellphones must be in glove box while cars are in motion.
IMPORTANT: Online waivers must be completed prior to arriving, if not this will cut into your time behind the wheel.

Driver Requirements
Vehicles are available to drivers over the age of 25 with good driving records and no major violations that would restrict your license from driving a vehicle on public roads.
Due to the size of our Porsche Cars, certain driver height and weight restrictions may apply. Please contact us for more information. We do offer Ride Along packages (when available) for those under the age of 21. We do not have an age restriction for passenger’s. Waiver signatures are required from both the participant and the legal guardian if applicable.
All clients of Appalachian Driving Experience must complete a liability waiver and a rental agreement prior to receiving a vehicle.

Insurance
All drivers must carry a form of full coverage insurance to cover damages to the vehicle in the event of an accident. Allowable coverage must be in the form of one of the following;
- Existing Coverage
If you already have an existing insurance policy on a personal vehicle you own or lease, you can use this same policy to cover your rental vehicle. You will need to contact your insurance company to verify that you have adequate coverage in place. If your coverage is insufficient, we will require all driver(s) to purchase additional coverage with their insurance company prior to renting (Fortunately, it does not matter what car you drive personally. As long as you have insurance in good standing , your carrier will cover damages) Out of state renters are required to maintain full -coverage insurance (liability, comprehensive and collision) - International Drivers- Appalachian Driving understands you are not able to provide proof of full coverage insurance. International visitors must provide a driver’s license from their home country. Additional coverage must be purchased prior to receiving a vehicle.
PayMENT Methods
Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover are the preferred method of payment for rental fees and damage deposits. In certain cases, cashiers checks or cash may be accepted if pre-arranged. Personal & Business checks are not accepted.
All gift vouchers purchased either online at Appalachaindriving.com or through our sales office expire in one year from date of purchase unless otherwise noted on the issue voucher. We do not offer refunds on gift vouchers. Expired gift voucher cards can be re-instated for a flat fee of $50.00 within 6 months of their expiration date, allowing an additional 6 months for the gift card to be used.

Traffic Violations
Drivers are responsible for all parking, traffic, speeding and/other tickets or violations issued while the vehicle is being rented. Drivers are responsible for paying all fee’s, penalties, towing charges, impound cost, and any other related cost incurred during their rental period.
Combination of Offers
ADE on occasion offers special promotions, however we do not allow combinations of offers, promotions, or gift cards. Only one special code per drive. In others words you can not combine a gift card with a % off a drive.
